Who We Are

Our Charter

TQKP (Thriving Queensland Kids Partnership) is an initiative of ARACY, working as part of ARACY’s national strategy to  promote child health and wellbeing. Through raising awareness about the drivers of disease, prevention-focused collaboration, evidence-based policy, and systems reform, we help shape healthier futures for children and young people.

As part of ARACY’s health promotion efforts, TQKP works to prevent and reduce health risks that impact Queensland children and young people. Our Charter guides this work, ensuring a strong focus on preventing and controlling developmental vulnerabilities, physical and mental health challenges, and chronic disease, by strengthening early intervention, improving access to care, and fostering environments that support lifelong wellbeing.

Guiding Principles

We work collaboratively to advance:

  • Health and wellbeing first – Ensuring that prevention and early intervention are at the core of efforts to reduce risks of preventable diseases, chronic conditions, and poor mental health outcomes.
  • Stronger systems – Strengthening policies, initiatives, services, and supports to create healthier environments that promote wellbeing and reduce the burden of disease on children and families.
  • Collective impact – Working across sectors to align efforts, share knowledge, and drive long-term improvements in children’s health, including addressing risk factors for disease.
  • Equity and fairness – Ensuring all children and young people, particularly those facing extra barriers, have access to the healthcare, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Why This Matters

Too often, children and young people face avoidable health challenges due to fragmented systems, short-term thinking, and insufficient focus on prevention. As part of ARACY, TQKP exists to connect partners, mobilise evidence, and advocate for meaningful policy change to ensure preventative health measures are embedded in the systems that shape young lives.

Join Us

By aligning with our Charter, partners commit to working collaboratively, equitably, and with a focus on prevention to improve health and wellbeing for children and young people. If your organisation shares this vision, we invite you to work with us—and ARACY—to build a healthier, fairer future for Queensland’s children, where preventable diseases and health challenges no longer hold them back.
