Building Resilience in Early Childhood – Scenic Rim

Helping children feel safe, connected and empowered in emergencies

The Scenic Rim may be familiar with severe weather, but many early childhood professionals are asking for more targeted training to help children prepare for, cope with, and recover from natural disasters.

During these workshops you will discover key findings from the Thriving Kids in Disasters Report, with the latest research providing valuable insights into the impact of disasters on early childhood.

You’ll also learn about Birdie’s Tree and the Pillowcase Project. Both programs aim to promote children’s resilience using developmentally informed approaches to help them feel safe connected, empowered, and hopeful in emergencies.

The day will conclude with a session focusing on, and planning for, the future direction of our sector.

Be part of this critical conversation and gain the tools to make a difference.
