Join us for an Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience-hosted webinar on Wednesday 1 April 2026, titled: Long term disaster impacts on education outcomes
When we take a child-centred and family-focused approach to disasters — and actively involve children — we can better protect their learning, health and wellbeing over time.
This webinar explores how disasters and climate extremes impact education outcomes over time — and what we can do to minimise these impacts.
Bringing together research and practice, it highlights how the environments, relationships and supports around children can buffer disruption and support continued learning.
It also points to a key opportunity: when we prioritise children’s learning and development as part of disaster planning and recovery, we can build stronger foundations for long-term resilience, health and wellbeing.
