We know that children learn best in environments where the adults around them are brain aware. We also know that to build capability we need to consider existing capacity constraints. Sustainable implementation requires resourcing including funding, access to evidence-based resources and collaboration.

Following learnings from Enabling Workforces and Organisations for Thriving Kids, Thriving Queensland Kids Partnership (TQKP) is inviting organisations and networks to partner with us to embed a Childhood Builders Capability Champion within their teams or networks from early 2026.

This exciting initiative is part of TQKP’s 5-year Impact Strategy (launched June 2025), focused on strengthening capability, connectivity and outcomes for children and families across Queensland. Capability Champions will play a critical role in building neuro-informed, relational and evidence-based practice, with an initial focus on the 0-8 years age group.

✅ Dedicated funded role embedded in your organisation
✅ Coaching and workforce development support
✅ Cross-sector collaboration and Community of Practice
✅ Strengthened prevention and early intervention impact – based on evidence-based approaches, tools and resources
✅ Backed by philanthropic and research partners – with particular thanks to Minderoo Foundation for funding this important initiative

Please download the Expression of Interest overview outlining the applicant opportunity, indicative arrangements and details of the EOI process including selection criteria.

We are initially seeking up to six host organisations or networks for three-year partnerships, with a pathway to long-term sustainability.

EOIs close Friday 30 January 2026
