To thrive, all families need services and supports that are accessible, friendly and joined-up.

The evidence shows that Child and Family Hubs are a great way to achieve this. And these quotes from families at Kingston State School FamilyLinQ show that local communities understand what they need to thrive and the value of Hubs:

“It will be a place of belonging and togetherness.”

“Staff will be trusted by the community.”

“Families will have a say in the running of the Hub and contribute to activities.”

“Activities for families will be convenient and accessible so families will be able to come to thighs regularly, for example appointments.”

The launch of the Child and Family Hubs Framework is our contribution to making sure that we all have the evidence and support we need to build, contribute to, and develop Hubs in their many forms (including community centres, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Community Controlled Organisations, health centres, school-based Hubs, early years centres).

Thanks to the many people who have been involved in developing the Framework, particularly The Bryan Foundation for their generous funding, the 160+ people who were consulted, and the Steering Committee members of the National Child and Family Hubs Network (the Network).

The Framework will be used as the basis of a national version for trialling and testing as part of the Network’s Strategic Plan 2024 – 2029, as well as development of a related evaluation framework.

Let’s work together to give every family, in every community, access to Hubs where they feel welcome and can safely get the support they need, when they need it.
