The health of babies, children, and young people is shaped by all the environments and relationships around them.
That’s why QKP’s Childhood Builder initiative is focused on equipping people across Queensland with practical tools, shared language and evidence-informed resources that can be used in everyday conversations, services and community settings.
This includes the people who support children and families every day – early childhood educators, playgroup facilitators, youth workers, teachers, community leaders, health professionals and family support practitioners.
Over the past few years, we’ve been building the foundations for this work together – sharing evidence across sectors, strengthening relationships, and supporting the spread of practical resources including the Resilience Scale, ARACY’s The Nest Wellbeing Framework and neuro-informed practice.
This next stage of work – funded by Minderoo Foundation – is about extending into more communities across Queensland, including regional, rural and remote areas.
Now, together with these organisations, we’re going Statewide with a fantastic network of champions who will:
 • share what works and apply it in everyday practice
 • build a common language, tools and ways of working
 • deliver training and support across teams, organisations and networks
 • connect people and strengthen collaboration across sectors
 • adapt and embed evidence in real-world settings
 • amplify great practice and learn from what’s working
 • reach people where children live, learn and play – and alongside families with greater need through health, justice and other services
These organisations will help us reach more communities across Queensland and equip more practitioners with access to tools, training, coaching and peer learning opportunities.
