Sharing the Resilience Scale as a simple, shared way to think and talk about resilience, is an important part of our work at Queensland Kids Partnership.

The Resilience Scale reminds us that resilience isn’t something children simply have or don’t have. It’s shaped by what surrounds them – and it’s something we can all help to build.

We’re excited to be offering a FREE online Resilience Scale Masterclass (including Australian examples and case studies) alongside our partners at Alberta Family Wellness Initiative (AFWI):

Tuesday 18 August, 2026

9.30am – 12.30pm (AEST)

This 3-hour training reviews the key metaphors of the Brain Story with a focus on how the Resilience Scale Metaphor can be used as a practical tool to assess and monitor resilience in individuals.

After this training, participants will be able to use the Resilience Scale:

– To explain the factors that strengthen and weaken resilience to their colleagues and patients/clients.

– As a clinical tool to visualize their patients’ current resilience and programs and services they can access to strengthen their resilience.

– As a system to monitor changes in the capacity for resilience over time.

– As a self-assessment tool to assess their own capacity for resilience.

Whether you work in health, education, justice or community services, you’ll discover practical ways to apply the Resilience Scale in your own work – and see how it’s already being used to strengthen organisations, communities and systems.
